What Type of Rest Suits a Woman. How Long a Woman Should Rest

 Holidays or vacations have ended - work, projects and new achievements are ahead. Usually, afterwards you have one more folder with photos, new impressions, grand or moderate plans and goals. And somewhere in a secluded corner of your soul you hear: “Oh, I would repeat it!”

Or maybe you hear quite distinctly: “I immediately need some rest after rest!” – Really, it may also happens. What about you? The first or the second variant?

Or, maybe, the third one, when you’ve become tired of rest and burst into work with all enthusiasm?

No matter which variant you chose at the moment, let’s talk about the rest as an important part of our life, a precious component of its rhythm. Especially, if you don't let yourself to have enough of it. Or if you want to make it better.

After all, having rest, we give our body to nourish, brain – to reload, and strength – to restore.

When different girls appeal to me with a request to play and find a solution to their anxiety, they often choose “Leisure” category, meaning: “Which rest is suitable for me and how long should I rest?”

Each of them gets 10 different variants, but I always want to add: “Darling, don’t search for the ready recipes. Try a rest by response!”

What is a rest by response? And how could it be arranged?

Firstly, try to observe what you have now. Rate for yourself on a 10-point scale how much rest you have in your life now. Is it enough of it?

When you rate your rest in the qualitative equivalent, ask yourself: “Does the rest I have bring me what I want to get from it?

You know, I ask it, because sometimes choosing a type of rest we base on our previous experience, standards of rest, somebody’s advice. And we act according to them, totally forgetting to check if it really is what we need right now.

For example, you may associate your rest with a walk in the forest, and you remember well how it inspired and filled you with energy earlier.

And here is your awaited day-off after a long stressful week. You have a thought in your head: “I should go to the forest immediately !” And you are planning to go there. To have a rest, to experience the same feelings and be filled with some pleasure.

You wake up on Saturday. Drive through the whole city. On your way you buy your favorite latte, get into the forest. You are trying to breath deeper, walking, searching for relaxation. But it never comes. As soon as you capture some irritation, you try to suppress it, convincing yourself that you are having rest. And you don’t need any excess thoughts about stress. But, for some reason, you return home not rested:(

Why does it happen? Because when you were choosing a way to rest, you were guided by your previous experience, familiar associations living in your consciousness.

But maybe at that very moment your body, your consciousness and your organism as a whole needed something different.

For example, comfort which could be brought by your favorite blanket, an intriguing book and seclusion at home with a cup of fragrant tea. And your family would be somewhere for a walk at that time.

Or, maybe, a simple change of activity could help you unload and relax. And you would again feel rested after having sorted out documents at home, having meditated while ironing clothes, or having helped your friend to rearrange furniture in her house loudly laughing at some silly jokes. Or just a simple shopping…

What do I want to tell with this? That rest by response is an ability to feel your needs here and now.

It is readiness to slow down, stop and in the bustle of the day frankly and sincerely answer yourself a question: “What do I need right now?

And then choose an activity or vice versa doing nothing which will internally respond with quiet joy, pleasant anticipation or clapping hands of your inner Girl?...
